South Africa 2013

Five days and counting!  This time last year, I was heading to South Africa for the very first time.  In fact, it was a time of many firsts for me... the first time going on a mission trip, the first time traveling overseas, the first time using a passport at all, and the first time putting my thoughts in a blog for everyone to see.  And I am blessed and thrilled beyond belief to be experiencing all of these firsts again.  I leave in 5 short days with an incredible group of new friends, and I can barely contain myself!

I know some of you who will be following this blog are my own friends and family, and some of you may be following as friends and family of my traveling companions!  Welcome!  Let me just state for the record that I am no professional writer or blogger or fancy photographer.  I'm not out to gain fame from a blog or pretend I'm somebody I am not.  I simply love journaling, and I couldn't think of any better way to keep my family and friends updated on our mission.  I had such a great time blogging last year, and personally it was a humbling experience to just let go and write.  I have tried continuing to blog outside of the mission trip just because I have enjoyed the challenge in trying to inspire others to step out of their comfort zone...even if for the tiniest things!  So, if you're visiting, please be patient with me, please be kind and encouraging with your comments (if you leave any :), and please please pray for this mission trip and all of our traveling!  I am going to do my best to keep you informed of our experiences and provide you with pictures of the journey along the way.
